I use FirstTrade for online limit trades ($7 trades). Recently I found out about TradeKing ($5 trades), and am thinking about switching. Which online broker do you use?

Schwab and Fido. I like the extra service and financial tracking. at 9.95 and 8 bucks... not a big difference. Just quit trading the 100 sh of penny stocks.

I was thinking to use Interactive Brokers, then I ask how they would give my money back, how it works. They answered long time after, and thought (or dissimulate) that I was asking how I should send money to them. So I didn't begin. I have fear that an online broker simply doesn't answer and doesn't send my money back when I require it.

TD Ameritrade has handled all my ideas smoothly for $9.95/ trade. Decent screen interface, decent research & tools, decent real-time access. Setting SSDUF up for DRIP was the only thing they couldn't do. Also, they have an office 50 miles away. So far, I really can't complain. Zwilnik

They may appear as snobs but when they execute your trade for just $1.00 they simply cannot hold your hand. Just open your account and go to account management and create your ACH. BTW if u don't trade for $30.00 then u pay $10.00 per month....

Fido. They have my IRA, have good portfolio service, good funds acess, and an office in-town. Have had zero problems.... well, not zero - they are sometimes slow up-dating. They show the correct transactions/credits/debits immediately, but sometimes take a day or 2 to get all the positions up-to-date.

Not lately but yes I have done it. I use my ACH settings to send money to IBKR as well use IBKR's own system to withdraw money. No phone call to verify and all.

Even though TradeKing may offer a cheaper commission rate, you have to take into account other factors such as promotions and services. For example, Firstrade currently offers free Trend Micro AntiVirus and AntiSpyware 2007 for one year to all of its customers. This way, we believe that our customer's online trading experience will be safe and secure. As a fellow representative of Firstrade, I would be more than happy to address any additional questions or concerns.

Schwab, and it is for the customer service. IMO they are as good as it gets. They are not the cheapest but for offerings and service A quality organization. I am quite happy. Ken

Hey, I'm a Firstrade user too. I'm aware that there are a lot of other brokers that offer cheaper deals, but some of them have hidden fees. I'd rather stick with Firstrade's flat rate.

I have had a taxable account with Zecco for a year and a half and made over 300 trades in that period. Paid a total of $0 in commissions. No maintenance fees, no hidden fees-just 10 free trades each month (prior to January it was 30 free tades). Moving $$ into and out of my account is easy with ACH to my local bank and is usually completed in a couple days. $0 commissions has allowed me to persue a stategy of gradually scaling into positions by purchasing just a few shares at a time. I have been able to slowly build up positions in several ETFs and a number of blue chip financials (C, BAC, AXP, & TROW) that have been hammered of late. The two times I have contacted them by email I got a response in several hours. I don't know how they make $$ off people like me, I just hope they don't further reduce the free trades/month. Dave
