DODBX, which has probably been the best hybrid for the last decade, is still down about -1.5% YTD... so FBALX's performance is pretty good relative to DODBX.

My personal portfolio is now green by a couple % points (YAA!!!!!)... so I am beating both of them... and I am not a professional investor.  They should be ashamed... and they wonder why so many investors are pulling their money.

In their defense, returns over a 5 month period are pretty much noise.  Long term performance is much more important. I still think they should be doing better, though.

Market returns last year were pretty pathetic, too.  I just keep trying to remember... any year you don't lose money is a pretty good year.  I haven't had a truly bad year for a long time... a bad year is a double digit loss... it's possible!!

The week of May 12th was a great week for most investors, I imagine. I bet many now see that their portfolios are green if not yellow. The ports I oversee are all green this morning. Yes! FBALX has done well in the last 4 months. KM

Erryl, I've been considering DODBX as a core fund for my taxable account.  I kicked myself many times for getting closed out and look at the re-opening of the fund as an opportunity.  While it's not specifically a tax-managed fund, the turnover is really low, making it more tax efficient than most active funds, esp. balanced funds.  What are your thoughts?  Thanks.

It's always better when funds post returns, there is a lot of emotion that goes along with feeling "wealthier".  Nothing wrong with that, it is very real.  I have been buying this fund for awhile, during the time it wwas down I bought a little more, it was "on sale", a little idea I learned from Erryl.  Congrats to all who are expericing positive returns, (we have just topped break even) you are beating the index.
