Lately my inbox has been bombarded with buy alerts for a company called Purple Beverage (PPBV) selling under $3. The company sells a purple antioxident beverage that claims to be sweeping the country. They have brought on several high profile execs from other similar companies, such as Red Bull, to help get going. Anyone familiar with the product or have any thoughts about the company. I checked over at caps, but there is little info there. Thanks

I am a deep value investor so maybe I am prejudiced but I wouldn't touch this stock with a 10 foot pole. Their business is a real tough game and getting shelf space is most difficult.

Do a yahoo search on this company under finance. Sales are small and management is being paid with stock options to a great extent. They've been in business about one year. Great potential for abuse by management down the road.
On the other hand this type of product is where the growth is in beverages. me, i wouldn't touch it with a ten foot poll. Ken

The daily, as well as the intraday price and volume charts give no indication that the price of the stock is about to take off. If one wanted to trade it, I would wait until someone takes the lead. I find it interesting that the stock is being pumped via E-mail alerts, yet there is no sign of interest in it. The last big move was a sell-off.

It's a long shot, and odds are if it's product makes it big, it'll be bought out by a larger fish, if they don't eat it first.
At 100 times book, it will have to make a lot of sales fast to make it a speculative M&A candidate. Perhaps worth putting on your watch list, but a pure gamble right now.
BTW, they're doing some interesting things that should appeal to a lot of consumers. I'm pulling for them in spirit, just not with hard cash.
