IRA Acct at Fidelity

Does anyone know if Fidelity charges maintenance fees on other company's funds held in a Fidelity IRA account?  For instance, I own a fund directly with a company who charges a $10 IRA maintenance fee each fall.  If I transfer shares in-kind so that the fund is now held through my Fidelity IRA account, will I still get charged that $10 each fall?

Thanks!

I doubt you would be charged simply for owning the fund within the IRA.

You might be charged more than you would like to buy more of it and that may be the biggest issue after the transfer.

There might be a minimum balance requirement--Fidelity might frown at you owning say only $1000 worth of the fund. I'm not sure. Fidelity usually has minimum balance requirements, but they may apply only to Fidelity funds?

Your current company (Vanguard or whoever) will probably charge something for the transfer out.

But I don't think Fidelity charges IRA maintenance fees for the account itself.

I have had an IRA with Fidelity for a long time and have owned several non-Fidelity funds within it. Never been charged anything.

Call them to confirm.

If you want to hold investments other than Fidelity funds in a Fidelity IRA, you will have to open the IRA as a brokerage account. There may be account fees based on the type of brokerage account and your total balance held at Fidelity. There may also be transaction fees depending on which funds are involved. I am sure the CSRs at Fidelity can explain the variouys options if you ask.

No, Fidelity has no IRA maintenance fee.
