Where is Sadaam when we need him?

Sadaam had no love for the USA or Israel but he hated the Iranians and their Shiite allies in Hezbollah. This is worth noting as Hezbollah demonstrates it political and military power in Lebanon.

As evidence of this I would point to the Iran-Iraq War where Saddaam fought a vicious war with Iran complete with weapons produced and supplied by the United States.  Today the USA whimpers over losing over 4000 soldiers in Iraq but Saddaam lost over a 1/4 of a million dead in the Iran-Iraq War.  The United States did not think Saddaam was such a "monster" at this time and quite properly so since adage "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" remains true to this day.  (How different WWII might have turned out without the assistance of: Stalin)

Sadaam (a Sunni) would never allow the Shiites of Iran or Shiites of Lebanon to ever upset the balence of power in the Arabian Peninsula.  Sadaam also had an intense empathy for Al-Quaeda. ,It took an era of  "Political Correctness" to lead to the removal of Sadaam.  Of course in time after the War is lost in Iraq and the U.S. is inevitably attacked through her Borders which our leaders from both parties refuse to secure, we will learn that "political correctness" is simply repressed brutality.

Thank you

Mr. Purrington

"Whimpers over losing 4000 soldiers" or am I mistaken that the loss of 4000 lives is on of the reasons given by those who want the U.S. to withdraw from Iraq.

Thank you

Mr. Purrington, I can tell you are an Arab by the way you spell Sadaam, and a Sunni Arab at that by your irrational hatred for your fellow Shiite Muslims. You named Iraq, Lebanon, and Iran where the Shiites are in majority.

I know you have no understanding of democracy, but in democracy demographics count in running the state. For far too long, the Shiite Muslim majorities in several Arab countries have been suppressed by vicious Sunni minorities, such as in Iraq, where your hero “Chemical-Weapons Sadaam” had a 30-year reign of terror on 80% of the Iraqi population who are Kurds and Shiite Arabs as well as the civilians in Kuwait and Iran, through his invasions of his neighboring countries.

If you are eulogizing fascist “Sadaam”, what does that say about your character and your political affiliation? Shame on you.

By the way, it’s strange that you have chosen “Mr. Purrington” as your M* handle, since as far as I know, the Arabic language has no letter “P”, Mr. Burrington. :-)

Happy Birthday Israel!

Haven't seen any in my neighborhood, but keep us informed.

Odd, you don't mind your country being called stupid. But hey, to each his own.

............Ted , .....My country wasn't called stupid , but I understand how you would feel.I'm sure that the originator of the "stupid" piece wasn't meaning it to apply to the general populace, more likely to some of the decisions made over the past eight years... .....and you know the ones.

ps. re: keeping you informed..........keep watching.

Dimes, Canada is just the 51st state.  What happens here in the US directly affects Canada.

[/quote]Governor...... I have no idea what the people of Canada would have to say about your pompous statement above....but, I would not make such an assimption. In fact, it may well be the other way around ,what with Canadas' vast oil reserves and its vast array of allies the world over, both of which are  lacking in the US. Furthermore ,you have displayed in 20 words or less, to the world at large ,the arrogance that has been attributed to many Americans, propogated by a few, such as yourself.. the phrase....... " Ugly American " . Nice going. Some things never change!

First off, i was joking.  There probably isnt two nations on Earth that are more "friendly" towards each other than the US and Canada.  We have the largest unprotected border on Earth and it goes back the longest amount of time.

Second, the U.S and Canada have the same allies as they have virtually the same foreign policy (just to a lesser scale).

Lastly, Canadians display that same pompous attitude, just like people here do, but for some reason, when they do it, its okay.  Why is that?

Everyone just hates the winners.  Its jealousy i guess.  Like the Yankees.  Why does everyone hate them?  Is it because its not their team winning all the time?

Ahhhhh........the good ole days when Saddam kept the Iranians in check and al-Qaeda out of Iraq.......when we hadn't spent $500 billion on credit and lost 4,000+ service member lives......when we weren't involved in a 100 year war. Yes, I remember that.
