If one files jointly are we to receive $600 or $1200 when we are both wage earners? We each had incomes over 10K and I though we would receive $1200 rather than the $600 we received yesterday.

The dividing line seems to be whether you paid taxes rather than was that salary or investment income.  The check is really a rebate on your '08 taxes.

Roberta, thanks for the reply. I read through the rebate info, but still couldn't understand it. I earned 7K from a parttime job and my wife has a full time job. My understanding was that we would get $1200, but I surely can't complain.
