I don't know where KoalaBear33 is, but he seems to have backed off from doing our StockPickers contest. No problema, we'll just do it ourselves, guys.

After WE all post our own YTD returns, I'm sure ONE of us is capable of doing either a chart or collated ranking for each current month-end YTD ranks.      Hint, hint... If you're computer-savvy, please step forward.

For reference, here's links to our two previous 2008 rankings....

for January, SP # 2483046 for cob 1/28/08

for February, SP # 2493314 for cob 2/29/08

For those of us fortunate enough to be doing well --meaning not in the hole like me-- you might find it interesting to compare your YTD returns to these indexes.            (courtesy of Ben's HandsOn Tracking post for 4/30/08)

VTSMX             $33.46                -4.64%

DIA_(DJIA)       $128.190            -2.64%

IWM_(R2K)      $71.40                -5.36%

SPY_(SP500)    $138.40               -4.41%

GLOBAL          $16,525               -1.85%

ENERGY          $68,649              +1.58%

I'll start off the first post by reporting my lousy YTD returns for cob 5/2/08.

                                                   .

Make life simple and round up or down to a full dollar, then report your 5/2/08 YTD total portfolio value and also your positive or negative YTD % return.

                                                                                                                 .

I strongly suggest that we each recap each of our personal positions for this post for our cob 5/2/08 YTD returns... the share balance and ticker for each of our stock picks for the StockPickers 2008 contest. Why? Cuz I'm sure that lots of you are like me --I have no earthly what your picks are.

                                                                                                              .

Regards,

Susan

Sounds like you're having a solid year, John. Without forcing me to do the math, what's your overall return?

Good Grief Munchkin Man - i hope those are only paper trades.  You are almost as unlucky as me picking stocks.  I just stick to mutual funds now.  Hope you are doing well & good to hear from you.  Haven't seen a post from you in ages.
