If I manage to climb just one rank per week til yearend, I'll be --- gasp! --- lucky enough to be ranked #36.  Oooooooo....

Then again, the rate it's going, I won't hold my breath. LOL!

Cheers to you, Sage. Good job!

Susan

Wow, 81-->3 (+78) rank change for ImmortalCoils, and 2-->80 (-78) for mattwright.

Are you guys trading those ranks or what? :)

How much are you guys asking? LOL

I can see ImmortalCoils moving up as I recognize the Latin influence in the picks.  But mattwrigtht's short portfolio?  Surprised it dropped that fast, but I guess its all in the leverage.

Sagenolos, please check Laksmi's portfolio.  Your alpha list includes ILA.  This should be IIA.  Not sure which symbol you are tracking as they are both "real" symbols.

The REIT short fund, SRS, is a disaster.  Fortunately, I don't use any of these crappy leveraged ETFs in real life.  My portfolio has been comfortably in the black for most of the year.

Thanks Paul, I double checked it, and it had already been corrected to IIA, but yes the original alphabetical listing is still showing the wrong symbol.  So I'm going to add a comment over there as well.

Here are the individual fund returns for Laksmi's portfolio cob 5/2/08:

Sage,

Thanks for the monthly results.  Some very extreme changes.

Thanks for the update. Oh well, at least I was on top for a brief moment in history. It looks like the precious metals bubble burst, along with int'l bonds (both are currency hedges), thus knocking me way down this month. I think the biggest challenge with investing today is trying to figure out which way our currency will go, and that is impossible. All we can do is try to diversify with a basket of currencies. That can be done inexpensively via international equities.

Let me add that my personal portfolio is now much simplified (I'm slowly moving towards Taylor's 4-fund Boglehead strategy.) and almost all indexed.
