Hi Don, Thanks for writing. If this continues to happen, I'd make sure that you aren't using a bookmark or a favorite when you try to access the Portfolio Manager. Occasionally these links become old and corrupt and start causing problems. In addition, I'd clear your cache every now and then. You can do this in Internet Explorer by going to Tools then Internet Options and click on "Delete" on the General Tab under "Browsing History." You'll then want to delete your temporary files. Best, M*_Casey

Hi Casey:

It's 7:45pm Eastern an my porfolio, while it shows up, is not updated. It's showing yesterday's prices rather than today's.

Mel

Its now 7:30 CDST in New Orleans and only 1 of my 6 portfolio funds have been updated.  So every time the DOW exceeds 200 points we need to wait until the next day to see what has happened to our retirement.  For the money Morningstar is charging they need to get a better IT department.

Finally 5 hours and 50 minutes after the market closed I finally had my portfoilio updated.  I thought we were in the 21st century.  One would think Morningstar was still using an abacus to do the math as long as this days results took.

So after 6 hours after the market had closed, I finally got my portfolio update.  I thought we were in the 21st century.  Was Morningstar using an abacus today to do the math?

Some of my funds are STILL not updated.  What a joke.  I'm pretty close to cancelling my premium membership.

M* it would be great if you could tell us why the updates are coming in so late.  Is it a local problem or the funds.  Thanks

By the way I would really appreciate an answer.

Thanks again

It's obviously a M* problem, since my Vanguard funds aren't updated on M* but they are updated on Vanguard's web site (actually two are updated and two aren't).

Here we go again....its Monday at 7 PM and nothing in my portfolio has been updated.  This is becoming commonplace.

It's M*s fault, no one else's.  If they say anything like they are getting their data late, then they should start getting it from someone else.  If other sites have the latest figures by now, why can't M*?  There is no excuse.  If the problem is their equipment, get it fixed.  If it is a problem with data "feeds" then get other ones.

I'm with you Joel.  Why is Morningstar having such a problem updating our portfolios?  Is it because they are selling more memberships than they have the equipment to service?  For the $ 149.00 per year membership or whatever it is I am paying, I could easily set up a Excel spreadsheet, enter the NAV's from the Funds websites and have an updated portfolio at least by two hours after the market closes. Morningstar needs a new director of IT services, because they are not providing the service we paid them for.

I also have found that today, last Friday, and maybe last Thursday, the Portfolio has been *really* slow being updated.

It's almost five hours after the market close and there are mutual funds which *still* have Friday's price.

Previous to last week, I found that the Portfolio fund info was always updated within 2.5 hours after market close.

M* - fill in the blanks:

We're sorry that the fund portfolio updates have been running extremely late recently.  The problem is due to _ _ _ _ _ _.   We expect to have this resolved by _ _/_ _/_ _.  Thank you for your patience.

M*Casey, maybe you could work a deal with Yahoo and get them to help you guys out.  They seem to be able to update their portfolios in a timely fashion.  They obviously have an IT department.  You might consider getting one.  10:30 ET and not updated (also tried your suggestion in an earlier post - no good).

Hi All,

I understand you would like to know why your mutual fund pricing data is being updated later than it had been previously.  The Nasdaq has recently extended its Mutual Fund reporting until 8 pm ET. This means that the data is not ready until 7 pm CT, at which time we begin our production so that we can give you the most accurate data for your portfolios.  Thank you.

Best,

M*Casey

If the data is not ready until 7pm CT, how come other sites have the info before M*?  Is it a case of M* not getting the data at a time when others do....and if so, why?

As for accuracy of data, I have yet to see data on funds/stocks that other sites get earlier not be accurate.

Hi All,

In order to ensure the accuracy of our data, the raw data is filtered to our data team for production before it is posted on our website.  Other websites may have a different process.  We apologize for the inconvenience.  However, I will submit a ticket to our data team for a more detailed explanation.  As soon as I hear back, I will update you.  Thanks for your patience.

 Best,

M*Casey
