Warren Buffett is one of my heroes, too.  But you don't need to buy a book, just buy Berkshire-Hathaway stock.  That way you can benefit 100% from our hero's brilliant and successful investment strategies without wasting a lot of your time and energy trying to clone yourself into the Sage of Omaha.

What? You don't have an extra $130,300.00 in your piggy bank that you need to buy a share of BRK.A?  I feel your pain!  You can pick up el-cheapo BRK.B for only $4,354.00 a share. And you can still be admitted to the Annual Meeting along with all the high-rollers. No one will ever know your secret...

Morningstar gives BRK.B a fair value of five grand, so even at $4,354.00 a share, it's still undervalued. [Full disclosure, I own BRK.B.]

If you want to get into Buffett's head, read his teacher's book. The student has expanded Benjamin Graham's philosophy but has never forgotten those lessons.

He once said he was 75% Graham, 25% Philip Fisher. So, read both. Both are available at Amazon.

The Roger Lowenstein book is quite good:

Buffett: The Making of an American Capitalist

Much lighter, but I also liked Janet Lowe's:

Warren Buffett Speaks: Wit and Wisdom from the World's Greatest Investor (Hardcover)

Geez... Since when has suggesting someone read Mr. B's letter get you knocked down on ratings. Easiest way is to read,

The essay's of Warren Buffett: Lessons for corporate america

I would echo reading The Intelligent investor and Common Stocks, Uncomon profits (to bad the son fell from the tree). If you take the three things that he learned BG you will see you need to understand basic business strategy, accounting, and valuation. That is how you learn to beat Mr. Market at his own game.

Last, you might want to check out

Financial Statement Analysis, a practioners guide

and

Valuation: measuring and managing the value of companies
