Through sharebuilder Im able to buy fractional shares of BRK.B and have some money ready to invest. Is now a good time to buy some. Its up roughly 24% for the year but then again it has returned that as an annual average for ever. Should I wait for a dip or is it fairly priced right now.
Thanks.

The Wall Street Journal publishes a "Buying on weakness" table in the Money & Investing section. Last Thursday, BRK.B ranked fourth on the list with a closing price (Weds.) of 4575. It looks like some investors were asking themselves the same question.

FYI & IMHO...
As a owner of Berk B , since It became Available and adding more of it every yr. since?
IMO? The time to buy Has been over for this yr...( since late 2nd qtr) I bought new shares at $3,600.. way back when
Next time frame? Not til 2nd qtr of 08', unless on the dips before then at $3900
buy signal..
I also follow what FAIRX does with this stock...
That being said> If investing for Long term( 2+ yrs ahead)? I don't think you can go wrong buying it on the Next - 5 to -7% Dip...since over that period of time it will even itself out..

Any reason for now buying until the 2nd quarter of 08? When I buy it will be for the long term 10+ years.
Looks like I will hold off for now.

I bought 30,000 worth about 5 years ago and it plummeted.I was totally disgusted and just let it sit.To date it has doubled. It showed me how little I really know about investing.Your asking advice. You want to invest as he does then do what he does.If its long term money for your retirement or whatever then buy and continue to buy and don't even look at it.Get out of the way and let him work for you long term.

BRK.B was at around 5000 few months back. Now it is at around 4450. My buying price target is less than 4300. It seems the re-insurance premiums are going down and hence some pressure on the stock. Anyway one of the factors I look at is when the stock goes to M* five star category. I use it as a loose indicator. One shouldn't put too much importance on some analyst's educated and calculated guesstimate. Having said that I generally like M* analysis and also like the fact that M* is an independent firm away from Wall St.
My holding timeframe: till retirement and beyond. For some reason, my dumb brain tends to believe Mr. Buffett who said he will retire 10 years after his death. Meaning I am not too worried about the sucession issue.

I think I would wait. I bought Brk back in 1999 and it still has not doubled. Obviously Buffett's message would be to buy when it's cheap, and since I've not been too thrilled with Berkshire's perofrmance I'm not sure where I would say cheap was. The thing I do like about Brk is there have been no taxes all these years. However after I bought in 1999 at 2500 I would have had to wait over 5 years to see any gain. Quite frankly nearly all the gain in nearly 9 years has come in the last 9 months! From this standpoint I'd say Brk is overvalued.I'd guess it would not be a buy in my book until 3700 or less.
