Our ranks are based on M*'s system of YTD returns. SageNolos has an Excel
spreadsheet that does all of the hard work for us. So far, Sage's method has been remarkably accurate. As you know, Sage will be administering the 2008 MF contest and *I* will assist him.

Our list of initial share balances are detailed in MF 194594
You can view your 12/31/06 funds in our enrollment post, MF 189750
Our previous ranking for cob 12/24/07 can be found in MF 2469101

16 contestants chose to participate in our "July" fund exchange. Their
picks can be viewed in MF 201861. To give SageNolos plenty of time to do
his magic, we executed the exchanges on Friday, 6/29/07.

As noted in previous rankings, doublecheck your individual portfolios
returns. If something doesn't jive, let us know.

To help us weigh how well our portfolios are doing, the following
benchmarks are those we feel are most pertinent...

FFNOX6.16%
VTSMX5.50%
S&P5005.50%
EAFE11.20%

Quite impressively, 58 contestants beat all of our benchmarks (over 62%). Even better, 77 of us beat FFNOX, VTSMX & the S&P500 (over 82% of us). Best of all, 81 of us beat our domestic benchmarks, VTSMX & the S&P500 (over 87%). Well done!

As always, we love to get feedback. Share with us anything you've learned from participating in the contest.

Regards, Susan

Before deleting the 07 portfolios, I did an additional ranking of the '07 picks in the new '08 year - which got off to a terrible start.  With declines in the first 5 days, and the Nasdaq declining 10 of 14 mkt days. These results are for options expiration Friday, Jan 18, 2008, with the mkt at new lows for the new year.  Resulting in almost a complete reversal in the rankings:
