I don't know how to deal with "fascist Islam". There is a reference that distinguishes between Islam (most Muslim's beliefs world-wide) and "Islamism" (the Iranian version). I don't understand "fascist Islam" as any more than as one of a set of labels for "Islamism".

There is also a very good (prophetic) article written before 9/11 by Daniel Pipes which seems (to me) to outline pretty well the Islamism aspects that Bush (and the rest of us) are going to have to face with the WOT - but it is way over my head for me to discuss much without a lot more study.

I am continuing to try to make George Friedman's point that we are winning a few very important political victories in Iraq in the WOT which nobody (certainly on this board) seems to be paying any attention to. They mostly relate to the fact that Bush has been successful in getting a few Islamic leaders to actively fight Islamism within their own nations, something that they had heretofore not done. This amounts to an offensive war (attack) on the terrorists which would be very difficult for us to do alone if for no other reason than that terrorists are spread out all over the world.

I'd never have predicted GOP gains all over the map, but it happened. My state has the first GOP controlled State Legislature since Reconstruction, something I thought I'd never live long enough to see.

It was a tidal wave in the South, with inroads into the Great Lake States.

of us here for some time] but we will proudly continue to post notes here. JR, CFS shows a lot of respect for our members here, and it is possible that some of our members just drop by to say hello.

EAGLE, I do not get paid by YOU and other TAX payers to take it easy, I have to be a risk taker [Or must pack it and go home]. I wrote ad nauseam about a BIG win by GWB, the GOP gaining seats in the Senate, and the GOP gaining seats in the House Of Reps. Some were under the impression that I was drunk when I made my predictions and I refused to change those predictions during the BAD days of the campaign when everything was looking UGLY for the GOP Team. The defeat was REAL UGLY and the DEM party better go back to the drawing board and come up with a new platform, otherwise they will follow the REFORM party and you know what I mean.

Just a reminder to all my friends dropping by The Lowest Rated Monologue on the web, the battle for Al Fallujah continues, and I have received a good letter from a Marine friend sent to their families by their commanding officer, the letter is not posted here, you should see it making the rounds on the internet and I bet you will receive a copy in your personal email from an active duty or retired military friend. GWOT day number 1156, the war continues and we have at least fifteen American KIA in Iraq so far this month, and that is at least 5 in the past 24 hours. Nobody is talking about Keith Mattew Maupin from Battavia Ohio, a MIA/POW since the month of April 2004 [was reported as executed by his captors circa 29th June 04, but he remains listed as captured per the Pentagon].
