Hi folks.

Good news and bad news.

The good news is that the ETF cavalry has arrived--I'm pleased to announce that Scott Burns and Paul Justice have joined the ETF team as strategists. Scott and Paul were most recently senior stock analysts in our equity research department. They bring with them a wealth of stock and ETF investing experience and a fresh perspective on the ETF industry.

You'll be seeing and hearing lots more from Scott and Paul in the weeks and months ahead. Consider that a great thing -- Scott and Paul are exceptionally bright guys and astute investors who will take our ETF coverage to the next level and beyond.

The bad news, from a purely selfish standpoint, is that this marks my farewell as erstwhile blogger and ETF gadfly, as I'll be taking on other duties at Morningstar. It's been a fun ride and I'm deeply grateful to those of you who have taken the time to read this blog and use our ETF research in general.

Scott and Paul will keep the home fires burning here at Basis Pointing and direct our ETF research henceforth. You're in great hands.

All the best,

Jeff Ptak

Hi Jeff, Scott and Paul:

I have noticed that your recent sales of XLG in the "hands-on portfolio".  Are there any concerns on XLG.  I have also noticed that your current favorite large-cap etfs are VV/VTI/VUG (not XLG anymore).

Considering current market condition and from a long-term perspective, which Large-cap etf would you recommend to buy?

Thanks,

Don
