This WSJ article is quite disturbing.  Folks, if you don't know who your mortgage servicer is, find out.  Once you do, try to ascertain their financial well being.  If that inquiry gives you a bad result, I recommend figuring out whether you are current as best you can.

Somehow, I had a feeling that this endless passing of mortgages would eventually develop some problem or another.  This particular issue may end up being just an isolated problem, but I think some cautious intelligence gathering would not be a bad idea.
