Can anyone recommend good no-load families? Also, surprisingly, I cannot find a site with a thorough list and links to their websites. I haven't been able to find such a list on this site either.
Right now I have most of my money at T. Rowe Price. I think they're good--comparatively--but I find it wise to have three or four. I have closed all my Scudder accounts; same with American Century; and am in the process of running as fast as I can from Janus. I'm just beginning to post some of my experiences (I'm sort of a student and writer about customer satisfaction) at www.theResearchSource.net/mutualfunds.htm.
Oh, and I'm not real thrilled with my experience so far with Vanguard. I'll take another look, but last year, Fidelity left me wanting as well.
Anyway, of course I'm looking for good performance. But just as important, I really want a customer friendly organization. I get really upset with a bunch of forms, fees, administrative junk, poor service, lousy website, etc. I have definitely seen the mutual fund industry improve over the last 10-15 years but some firms still have a long way to go. Actually, I would like to see M* pay more attention to innovation in terms of customer service...
Are their firms out there that really want to be different than the traditional, big bank-like firms?
Thanks.
