The Korea Fund has just offered

to trade fund shares for a basket of the actual shares to fund holds in Korean securities. Yesterday's fund discount was 4%, and the fund will work the swap at 2%.

Can someone rationalize a)why the fund would want to do this, and b)why a shareholder would want to do this? It seems to me the 2% difference in the discount isn't worth all the effort.

I remain your puzzled correspondent,

Don
